はじまりのみち
戦時中、監督作「陸軍」が戦意高揚映画でないと軍部からマークされてしまった木下恵介は、次回作の製作が中止となってしまう。そんな状況にうんざりした彼は松竹に辞表を出し、脳溢血で倒れた母たまが治療を行っている浜松へと向かう。戦況はますます悪化し山間地へと疎開すると決めた恵介は、体の不自由な母をリヤカーに乗せ１７時間に及ぶ山越えをする。
