持ち前の美ぼうと自信に満ち溢れた言葉で、多くのファンから羨望の眼差しを送られるカリスマ霊能力者・小田霧響子（石原さとみ）。この日も、人気テレビ番組で大物俳優（大和田伸也）相手に霊視を成功させ、喝采を浴びていた。ところが、そんな華やかなオモテの顔とは裏腹に、実際の響子は地味で臆病でオーラの欠片もない普通の女の子。今の仕事も、従姉妹の芸能事務所社長・薫（大島優子）に無理矢理やらされているだけで、現場から逃げ出すこともしばしば。その度に、薫の指令を受けた黒服集団に強制的に連れ戻されているのだった。 そんな中、響子は逃げ込んだ男子トイレに偶然居合わせた、谷口（谷原章介）という男と知り合う。とっさに彼に助けを求めたものの、黒服集団の前にあえなく撃沈。薫の有無を言わさぬ業務命令に押し切られてしまう。
